Henley Green’s our place to shine!

Black History Month

During the month of October we are celebrating Black History Month.

This year 2020, the 33rd Black History Month in the UK will be celebrated - the first was in 1987.

Black History Month is a way to celebrate and recognise the contribution of Black people to British society. Black History Month in the UK celebrates the History, Arts and Culture of Black British people.

In KS1 and KS2 we will be having assemblies each week focusing on Black History and we will also be exploring and developing our understanding about the recent ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests.

In EYFS the children will be exploring Black African and Caribbean culture through their role play and creative learning including music and books.
