Pupil Premium

Henley Green…it’s our place to shine!

What is Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of  pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. This funding is calculated from the proportion of pupils who have been eligible for Free School Meals  at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure); Looked after Children; children adopted from care and Service Forces children.

The Department for Education has clear expectations how the Pupil Premium Grant may be spent:

for the purposes of the school, ie, for the educational benefit of pupils registered at that school;

for the benefit of pupils registered at other maintained schools or academies;

on community facilities, eg, services whose provision furthers any charitable purpose for the benefit of pupils at the school or their families, or people who live or work in the locality in which the school is situated.

How is Pupil Premium Funding Spent at Henley Green School?

At Henley Green School, we are committed to removing barriers to learning for all pupils. The Senior Management Team carefully track pupil progress to ensure that interventions and support can be effectively implemented successfully through Pupil Progress Meetings.

We allocate funding to ensure that all pupils have access to wider opportunities in school by subsidising the costs of trips such as Dol-Y-Moch, providing family support through our Inclusion Team and by providing targeted support for pupils.

Further details of how this funding is spent, and the impact of this for our pupils is detailed in the reports below.
