Here is a recipe if you want to have a go at making your own Gingerbread men

If you just want to make some simple dough to play with use a cup to measure out two cups of flour and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, mix together and add one cup of hot water, add the water a little bit at a time until you have a soft dough. If its too sticky just add a little more flour - see if you can make a little man you don't need a cutter just use your hands to pull and mould the pieces into shape.

Using playdough is very good for little hands, it builds up muscles needed for holding pens with all the pulling and pushing. It can be very relaxing for young children, children get and chance to use their imagination and be creative and most importantly its great fun!

As everyone enjoyed counting out pegs for the Goats legs, here is another peg challenge. Hide 10 pegs - if the weather is better you could do this in your garden. Write a numberline on a piece of card and then your child has to find and attach the pegs, counting aloud as they find. This is teaching number order and recognition of written numbers
