National Literacy Trust - Virtual School Library

Every week a popular children's author or illustrator will provide you with free books, exclusive videos and their top three recommended reads.

Our Virtual School Library will complement existing school libraries and will ensure that children have access to the magical world of stories all year round, whether they are learning at school or at home.

We’ve worked with brilliant publishers and inspiring authors and illustrators to ensure that the books and activities in our Virtual School Library will support children’s wellbeing through reading.

Coventry Schools' Library Service have created a special online reading club for every pupil in Coventry to be able to share their reading achievements. There will also be a series of mini challenges that will appear over the next few weeks for you to have a go at. There are also downloadable resources to support reading for pleasure at home and links to online reading reading resources. If you would like some help and advice from our specialist children's librarians on what book to read next then please send your enquiries to their Book Doctor at and the librarians will do their best to recommend some fantastic reads to try.  Click here.
